Evening with the Mayor

On Tuesday evening a small group of children and staff were invited along to the Lagan Valley Island for a reception at the Mayor’s parlour. This was to celebrate Downshire’s contribution to Hillsborough winning a ‘Britain in Bloom’ award. The Mayor welcomed us and then we enjoyed some food together. Following this the Mayor took us on a tour of the Council room and his parlour where he told us information on how the Council works, what the Council does and the history of the charter and crest. Everyone very much enjoyed their evening!
