P5 Active Learning Day

Our P5 classes have had active learning days this week. Jake Smyth from P5C tells us more about their day…

On Monday 9th September Rita and Michael came to Downshire Primary to do a Stone Age Day in P5C. There were lots of interesting activities. We crushed up grain to make flour. Later on in the day we used the flour to make bread on a campfire. Some of the activities were dressing up as Stone Age people, clay pot making, a wild boar hunt and weaving a wattle wall. My favourite activity was the wild boar hunt. Our class also enjoyed making axes as well. The day was a lot of fun and I was sorry when it ended.
