Football

The boys under 11 football team played brilliantly to qualify for the football league finals at Laurelhill, Thursday before last. There were six teams in the finals and each team played each other with the team with the most wins, winning the league. Our team put together five excellent performances and were unbeaten in all five games. We drew nil-nil against Seymour Hill PS. Next up was Academy. We were down 1-0 but came back to one goal each with Billy scoring. The repeat button was pressed against Pond Park but in reverse, winning 1-0 until a free kick was awarded against us for hand ball and they scored. The fourth game was against the eventual league winners. This was our best game, with a number of chances to win the game but unfortunately we blazed over the bar. In our final game against Ballymacash, Billy scored a fantastic solo goal. Ballymacash were awarded a free-kick in the last minute, equalling the score to 1-1. Overall, the boys should be proud of coming fourth in the league. We look forward to the cup competition after Christmas.

Cross Country

Both Cross Country teams raced at Lisnagarvey High School last Thursday and qualified for the NI Finals in January. In the girls’ race Rebecca dominated the race from the start and came first. The rest of the team came in with Ella fourth; Hannah sixth; Emma ninth; Stella twenty-third and Rosie twenty-eighth. The boys completely dominated the top 10 with Billy first; Noah third; Euan fourth and Jonah fifth. Finn came in twenty-eighth and Henry thirty-fifth. Well done to everyone who competed and we wish both teams well for the Finals race in January.
