The PTA’s main focus is on raising funds for Downshire PS. In doing so, we are contributing towards the strong sense of community within the school, Hillsborough and surrounding areas. The PTA is another way in which parents, teachers and pupils can work together for the benefit of our children.
At our monthly Committee meetings we plan fundraising activities, evaluate past activities and share feedback or ideas we may have received over the month. Closer to each event our meetings are spent checking everything is in place to run smoothly. Our role is fun and made easy by an active group of volunteers within the school for which we are very thankful. We strongly support the schools ethos of ‘everyone valued, everyone encouraged, everyone achieving’.
We always welcome everyone to get involved; either to be part of the Committee or a volunteer. You don’t need to have a lot of time, whatever time you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
