David Walliams

David Walliams is releasing a free children's audio story every day for the next month

'Elevenses' are daily short stories from his best-selling kids' books.

You might have Joe Wicks' daily PE classes pencilled in at 9am, but there's a whole lot of day stretching out beyond that for parents and kids. So, a new announcement from popular children's author David Walliams is bound to be welcome news.

Schools have sent out home learning packs and online resources for the nation's children, but flexibility is encouraged, as is a healthy dose of fun. Now, every day at 11am, David Walliams, author of The Boy in The Dress and Gangsta Granny, will be sharing an audio story from one of his best-selling World's Worst Children short story collections.

Whether your children are already firm fans of the author or not, this is a sure way to add some fun and laughter to their mornings. The daily treat is nostalgically named 'Elevenses', and children and grown-ups can tune in for a tale elaborately told by the TV presenter, actor and comedian. And, yes, he does all the voices.

Announcing the move on his instagram page, Walliams joked in the caption: "All those stuck at home with their kids may be able to relate to ‘The World’s Worst Children’!" as he revealed that he'd be sharing his stories with the nation. "I’ll be releasing an audio story every day for the next 30 days absolutely free," he said. "First up is The Terrible Triplets!"

David's success as a children's author has seen him write 13 novels, seven picture books and four short story collections to date. All extremely popular thanks to their comic and mischievous nature, they really hit a note with kids.
