Ocean in a Bottle

OCEAN IN A BOTTLE! 

You will need:

  • water
  • cooking oil 
  • blue food colouring
  • large clear, plastic bottle 
  • funnel

The Science behind the "ocean" is that because oil and water do not mix, the movement of the two separate liquids within the bottle gives the illusion of waves. Why not try different colours and make a rainbow of oceans?

Useful Tip: a mouthwash bottle is perfect, as it has a child-proof lid which prevents the kids from opening it when playing with it.
